Support & FAQ

Everything you need to know about ReflexLab.

General

What is ReflexLab?

ReflexLab is a reaction time training game. It's designed to be a fun, competitive way to benchmark your reflexes across 4 unique modes: Classic, Rapid Fire, Stroop, and Phantom Ring.

What platforms is ReflexLab available on?

Currently available only on Android via Google Play.

Is ReflexLab free?

Yes. ReflexLab is free to download and play.

How many rounds are in a session?

Classic and Phantom Ring have 5 rounds per session. Rapid Fire is a single 3-second burst. Stroop is a single 15-second continuous session. Daily Challenge matches the round structure of whatever mode is rotated for that day.

What is the Stroop Effect?

It's a conflict between reading (automatic) and color identification (controlled). Your brain wants to read the word, but the game asks you to ignore the word and focus on the ink color. The mismatch slows you down and causes mistakes. ReflexLab's Stroop mode adds extra difficulty with 5 different fonts and random casing.

How accurate is the measurement?

No reaction time test is perfectly accurate due to hardware latency (screen refresh, touch sensors). However, ReflexLab uses millisecond precision timing and modern smartphones typically have very low latency. The real value is in tracking your improvement over time on the same device.

Cloud Identity

What is Cloud Identity?

Cloud Identity is an optional feature that creates an anonymous account to save your scores to the cloud. This enables leaderboard participation. It does not require an email, phone number, or any personal information — just a display name.

How do I activate Cloud Identity?

Go to your Profile screen to activate. You'll be asked to set a display name. Once activated, your scores are synced to the cloud automatically.

Can I change my display name?

Yes. Go to Profile and tap your current display name to edit it. Note: This can only be done once every 30 days.

What data is stored in the cloud?

Your display name, best scores per mode, daily challenge results, and a unique device identifier. No personal information, location, or browsing data is stored. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Streaks

How do streaks work?

Your streak counts consecutive days you've played at least one session (any mode). The counter resets to zero if you miss a full calendar day.

What are Streak Savers?

Streak Savers are a protective mechanism. If your streak is about to break because you missed a day, the app will offer to restore it using a Streak Saver when you next open the app. You get a limited number of Streak Savers.

How do I restore a broken streak?

When you open the app after missing a day, a dialog will appear offering to restore your streak. Tap "Restore" to use a Streak Saver. If you tap "Discard," the streak resets to zero and cannot be recovered.

Leaderboards

How are leaderboard rankings calculated?

Each mode has its own leaderboard. Classic and Stroop rank by score in milliseconds (lower is better). Rapid Fire ranks by tap count (higher is better). Phantom Ring ranks by average error in pixels (lower is better).

Why don't I see my score on the leaderboard?

You need to activate Cloud Identity first. Without it, your scores are stored locally only and not submitted to the global leaderboard.

What are the rank badges?

If you're in the top 50 globally for any mode, you earn a rank badge:
  • #1: World Champion (Gold)
  • #2: Elite Runner (Silver)
  • #3: Podium Master (Bronze)
  • Top 10: Global Top 10 (Blue)
  • Top 50: Leaderboard Elite (Slate)

Daily Challenge

When does the Daily Challenge reset?

It resets at UTC 00:00.

What mode is today's Daily Challenge?

The mode rotates daily. You can see today's mode on the Daily Challenge card on the home screen.

Can I replay the Daily Challenge?

No. You get exactly one attempt per day. This is by design — it makes the Daily Challenge a true test of your best performance under pressure.

Does everyone get the same Daily Challenge?

Yes. Every player in the world gets the exact same challenge each day. This ensures that the competition is fair for everyone.

Data & Privacy

How do I delete my data?

Follow the instructions on our Delete Data page. You can delete all local data and your Cloud Identity from within the app.

What data does ReflexLab collect?

See our full Privacy Policy. In summary: anonymous analytics (Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics), ad-related data (Google AdMob), and optionally your Cloud Identity data (display name + scores).
